A-One eSports team members have returned home with good results in the recently held PUBG Mobile Super League in Nepal. A total of two teams from Bangladesh participated there, but only AOne eSports made it to the finals.

Apart from Bangladesh, players from Nepal, Pakistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Russia participated there.

Despite hundreds of obstacles in Bangladesh, the country’s esports players are moving forward. Those concerned hope that the boys of the country will do much better if they get proper support. Kazi Arafat Hossain founded A1 Esports in 2020, the most popular esports team in Bangladesh to date. The team participated in the first ever PUBG Mobile World Cup in Dubai in 2021. Hasan Mahmud, a member of Awan Esports, spoke to the media about eSports.

He said that recently they came from Nepal to play PUBG Mobile Super League season-2. Qualified for the PUBG World Cup from that tournament. Where various teams from all over the world participate. And in this World Cup tournament, a prize of about 650 crore rupees is given. The prize price of the one they played recently was 2 lakh dollars, which is about 2 crore 40 lakhs in Bangladeshi taka. Teams from Central Asia and South Asia participated there. They were in the top 16 out of thousands of teams there.

Hasan Mahmud said that most of the elderly people in the country do not like Pubg. But when they play at a competitive level, their parents also support them. Many people think that boys and girls get addicted to playing PUBG, which is why PUBG is banned. But he claims that those who are addicted are still playing and suffering from problems.

He also said that no official tournament of PUBG is coming due to the ban in Bangladesh. For which we are not getting sponsorship, we are not able to qualify easily. We are qualifying with a lot of difficulty. As pubg players, our only request is that pubg should be unbanned from Bangladesh. We have played many tournaments, we have represented the country. Now I want to play in the official tournament in the country. And if PUBG is unbanned, we will be able to represent the country more.

Gaming and eSports; Much bigger than the movie or music industry. Now is the time to think positively about it. The prize money of an e-sports championship in Saudi Arabia is Rs 658 crore.

All countries of the world are moving forward with esports. Countries around us are officially recognizing eSports. Even in countries like Malaysia, eSports is included in the national budget. Esports are included in the curriculum in Japanese schools. So we also need to go ahead with this potential industry through proper policies and now is the right time.
